Centenarian celebrates birthday after defeating Corona

Mumbai- In an atmosphere where Corona is proving deadly for old-age people, here is one more positive news from Mumbai. A Mumbai based centenarian has successfully defeated Corona after 14 days treatment at Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital.

Arjun Govind Naringrekar who was found Corona positive 15 days before his 100 th Birthday, was discharged from the BMC run Hospital on Tuesday after he was tested negative.

He was admitted in BMC’s Balasaheb Thackeray Hospital in Jogeshwari East on July 1st after he was tested positive. His family was worried whether he would celebrate his 100th Birthday or not. But hospital staff  and Doctors took special care of him and it was a pleasant coincidence that he was discharged on his 100th Birthday. Before leaving for his son’s home at Kandivali, BMC staff celebrated his birthday a day in advance. They brought cake for him. It was a moment when everyone become emotional.  He thanked everyone for their efforts.

Naringrekar was born on 15 July 1920. He worked as Teacher and retired as Head Master from Zilla Parishad School in today’s Sindhudurg district on July 31, 1978. His students are now working in and outside the country.

He is currently staying with his son’s family in Kandivali. Few members from this family were tested Corona positive. After this, symptoms of Corona were noticed in his body. After admission in hospital, he was also found affected with pneumonia. He was admitted in Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. He followed strict discipline about his food and medicines. He followed all instructions of  Doctors and staff.
