The MVA Government has cited tight financial conditions and the Corona Pandemic to reverse the decision of BJP-Shiv Sena Governments previous decision to give pension to those imprisoned during 1975 Emergency.
In a move that will deny some few people, who were rewarded for being jailed for a brief period during 1975 emergency, the MVA has issued a Government Resolution that stops these pensions.
People who had been imprisoned for 1 months or less were getting a monthly pension of 5000 Rupees per month and those for 1 Month were getting Rs 10,000/-. When introduced, this was seen as an attempt to enrich a few people who had suffered during Congress imposed National Emergency in 1975 -1977 period.
